Back along in the beginning of the year i wanted to experiment surface design by combining fabric and clay. So I made a series of patches from fabric which i then turned into decals and transferred them onto handmade tiles. The outcome wasnt what i had hoped for and well to be honest i was fairly dissapointed, but the idea wasnt a waste! After realising that actually i had made a shoddy bunch of boring tiles i had a brain wave and came up with the idea of rolling the tiles into spirals and looking at surface area from a 3D point of view...thus leading on to my current body of work. So the moral of the story is that even when shit hits the fan or times seem hard theres always a light at the end of the tunnel!
